The Marydell Faith and Life Center is a Catholic facility supported primarily by the Sisters of Our Lady of Christian Doctrine and is dedicated to serving the needs of the Catholic Archdoicese of the New York.
Marydell is open to those seeking a deeper relationship with God, a deeper connection with the earth and a deeper awareness of the spirit within. While Catholic in its foundation, mission and philosophy, the Center welcomes persons from all religious persuasions.
Available Facilities
PICNIC GROUNDS: for groups of 100-200 people.
SWIMMING POOL: accommodates 50-75 children. For use: of Day Camps and Picnic groups. Life Guard must be provided by the group.
KATERI LODGE- accommodates 100 people for conferences. (Both upper and lower area) Includes small Kitchen area for light cooking, heating of meals. (Microwave and coffee pot available). Bathrooms/handicap accessible. Use of VCR upon request for a small fee.
DINING HALL- accommodating 100 people for conferences &/ or dining facility with commercial size kitchen and fireplace (for winter use). VCR upon request for a small fee. Bathrooms available.
OWAISSA - Small Conference room for 20-25 people.
These facilities are not available to Picnic groups unless separately reserved.

The Sisters of Our Lady of Christian Doctrine
through the Marydell Faith and Life Center,
seek to create a place that by its very existence
fosters a respect for the beauty and integrity of the Earth.
We are called to host programs that foster
a holistic integration of body, mind and spirit,
and nurture the gifts of each person to live a fuller life.
We will provide facilities, resources, and programs that
promote ecological awareness, physical relaxation,
spiritual renewal and faith development.
These will be facilitated by our contemplative witness and
care and respect for the dignity of each person and the environment.

our option for the poor,

History
In 1925, the Sisters of Our Lady of Christian Doctrine acquired property in Upper Nyack, New York to provide inner city youth and the poor with a setting for fresh air and country experiences. Located at the foot of Hook Mountain near Nyack State Park, it developed into the Marydell Camp for girls, which closed in 1988. It is now known as the Marydell Faith and Life Center. The Center continues the mission of the Sisters today and serves the community as a sacred and beautiful place for prayer, refreshment, retreats, conferences and workshops.

Nestled along the majestic cliffs of Hook Mountain and overlooking the Hudson River, the land here retains a sacredness; a holy quality that nurtures and restores the soul. Consisting of 43 acres of rolling lawns and wooded areas, Marydell is open to those seeking a deeper relationship with God, a connectedness with the earth and an awakening of the spirit within. The Sisters of Our Lady of Christian Doctrine extend a warm invitation to all: come visit this special place where relaxation, recreation and solitude can all be found in an atmosphere of peace and hospitality…all within an hour of New York City.

The Marydell Faith and Life Center depends upon the generosity of the groups that use the facilities to offset the costs of operating the Center. The Center, in keeping with its primary option for the poor, subsidizes the costs of many groups that come to Marydell and appreciates any donations to help with scholarships for those unable to pay.
